SUN Automation Group® Introduces New Innovations and Showcases Leading Converting, Printing and Feeding Solutions at SuperCorrExpo 2016
--Everything Corrugated Under SUN on display at booth #1931--
SPARKS, Maryland(October 17, 2016) SUN Automation Group®, a leading global provider of value added solutions for the corrugated industry, delivers “everything corrugated under SUN” at 2016 TAPPI AICC SuperCorrExpo, in Orlando Florida at booth #1931. Attendees to the booth learned first-hand about the latest innovations in converting, printing and feeding solutions from SUN.
“We pride ourselves on delivering customer-centric solutions,” says Greg Jones, Director of Sales and Marketing, SUN. “Our SuperCorrExpo display showcased a sampling of some of our most recent innovations that fulfill the demands of the corrugated industry today as well as tomorrow.” SUN is unveiling its next generation SUN110 rotary die cutter- a cost-effective yet high performing machine ideal for integrated and independent box plants. It boasts heavy duty construction and is large enough to handle actual 66”x110” sheets yet flexible enough to print multi-out, six color, tight registration jobs.
In addition, SUN is holding live demonstrations of the Asahi platen die cutter throughout the show. The Asahi machinery is now available through a recent partnership with SUN, whereby the company provides parts and services with existing and new purchases of Asahi platen die cutters in North and South America. The innovative machinery is known for its high accuracy and durability in carton making applications.
Representatives will also be on hand to discuss Langston and Ward rebuilds and upgrades. As the OEM for Langston RDC and FFG units, SUN provides necessary parts and service to ensure longer life cycles and greater productivity. SUN also carries most high-wear Ward parts.
Attendees seeking new digital print solutions will also discover more about SUN’s CorrStream digital printer and hear firsthand about the successful beta testing with key industry partner HSG in SUN’s private viewing room on site. To ensure market viability and test application results, HSG opted to incorporate the first CorrStream at their facility in Bradford, UK earlier this year.
“We’ve worked hard over the years to create a technology that truly answers the demand for digital printing in our industry,” says Ron Diedeman, President, SUN. “Finding the right partner in HSG was critical to its success. We are thrilled to be able to stand side-be-side at the show and share with attendees the success we’ve achieved together, thus far. SUN and HSG share a passion not only for the technology but also the mutual understanding of the flexibility and opportunities this provides converters and ultimately brand owners. “
SUN recently partnered with CleanPrint Chemicals to provide customers throughout North America a proven and effective 'Cleaning in Place' system for keeping chambers, pumps, ink lines, anilox rolls, and other internal components clear of dried ink. Booth visitors will learn more about the cutting-edge technology and meet directly with CEO of CleanPrint Chemicals, Geoff Literski, to better understand how the Australian patented (patent-pending in US) automatic delivery system and cutting edge chemical technology safely, quickly and effectively keeps systems clean.
For SUN, showcasing all its corrugated solutions under one roof wasn’t just a show euphemism. The company also announced it will relocate operations to an expanded facility in Glen Arm, Maryland in late November. Due to rapid growth over the years, SUN met its need for additional work space by spreading its operations across three different facilities in the Baltimore, MD area. And while increased demand is a positive problem to have, floor space is essential when designing and building corrugated equipment. SUN’s employee-owners recognized the challenges their current facilities presented and decided to invest in one facility in Glen Arm, MD. The new building will house all departments under one roof as well as triple its manufacturing space. Attendees will be able to see a glimpse of the new building in a never-before-seen video drone tour.
“From our new SUN110 RDC and CorrStream digital printer to the recent partnerships with CleanPrint and Asahi, it’s been an exciting year for SUN and we had a lot to share and celebrate at SuperCorrExpo 2016,” said Jones. “We plan to build on our recent growth and welcome attendees and customers to learn more by visiting us in our new home in Glen Arm very soon.”
