What Happens to Anvil Dust When Using a Top Anvil System?

Regardless of location, ground blanket dust can be an issue for anvil systems. Top anvil systems were designed to alleviate the dust that bottom anvil systems produced. On machines with a top anvil, ground dust will settle on corrugated medium. Systems with a full width vacuum plenum, such as SUN Automation Group’s® MicroGrind®, alleviate the dust issue.  When grounded, dust is captured before it falls on the board and delivered to a collection area.

Top anvil systems have proved to be an effective and easy to maintain solution to dust in the converting process. The MicroGrind  system is hinged, providing quick access when anvils covers are to be changed. This process helps save time and labor costs.
