Meet our Board of Directors

SUN Automation’s board of directors is chaired by Mr. Ronald O. Rauschart.  The board brings a vast amount of knowledge and expertise to the company. SUN Automation is an employee-owned company (ESOP). The prime objective of the board is to ensure the company’s continued success and to protect and grow the employees' retirement funds.

Mr. Rauschart, born and raised in Pittsburgh PA, has 41 years of industrial marketing and sales experience including 28 years in the Corrugated Container Industry. Ron has had sales management positions with Ward Machinery, Prime Technology, and Langston. In late 2010, Ron retired from Dicar Inc., after 16 years as Vice President of Marketing & Sales. Ron has been active in TAPPI and AICC, serving as Chairman of TAPPI’s Corrugated Division, and President of AICC’s Associates Board. A 1970 graduate of Borg-Warner’s Sales Management Training Program, Ron has a B.A. in Business Administration from Westminster College, and a MBA in Marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Ron lives in Montville, New Jersey.

Mr. Mills joined SUN Automation’s Board of Directors in December of 2015. He retired from International Paper in 2014, after 44 years of service. He previously held positions as Plant Engineer, Region Engineer, Division Purchasing Engineer, Manager of Technical Services & Continuous Improvement and Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, Capital Investment/Purchasing. Mr. Mills has traveled extensively globally supporting International Paper manufacturing operations and due diligence activities. He is currently Chairman of the TAPPI Corrugated Packaging Division. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Management from Clemson University. Roger lives in Mobile Alabama.

Mr. Hikel and his family started Shelter Systems Limited in 1976 and have become the premier supplier of structural building components to the residential and commercial mid Atlantic real estate markets. Their state of the art 120000 square foot manufacturing facility is located in Westminster, Maryland. Joe is currently the President and CEO of Shelter Systems Limited and a graduate of Loyola University Maryland, with a MBA in Business.

Prior to becoming President, Ron Diedeman served as SUN Automation’s Vice President of Parts and Service. Diedeman started his career in the corrugated container industry with FX Hooper Co. in 1956. His experience includes engineering, manufacturing, customer service, and general management positions with Koppers, Ward Machinery, and Corrugated Gear. Ron was born and raised in the greater Baltimore, Maryland area and holds a B.S. Degree in mechanical engineering from Johns Hopkins University.

Greg became part of the SUN team in 2012. He came to SUN after 12 years of working with Illinois Tool Works (ITW), a Fortune 200 company. Managing and leading sales teams for ITW, Greg gained a great understanding of working in cross functional teams, that implemented 80/20, Product Line Simplification, In-Lining, and Market Rate of Demand principles. Greg brought over 25 years of sales and management experience with him to SUN. During his first three years at SUN, Greg was tasked with building and developing relationships and trust in the North America region by listening and collaborating with the internal SUN team to bring solutions to our customers. In December 2015 Greg was moved into the role of Director of Sales and Marketing to bring this same type of customer focused solutions to SUN customers and employees globally. Greg, along with his wife Karen and their children, live in Fallston, MD a short drive from SUN’s world headquarters.
